Eli Tate covers stock house plans, floor plans, and architectural design publishers for HomePlanHQ. He spent nine years as a residential drafter at a small firm in Portland, drawing permit sets for owner-builders across Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. He has reviewed the standard drawing sets from every major US plan publisher, knows what each one ships and what each one quietly leaves out, and has consulted on more than three hundred owner-builder projects after the plan purchase.
He holds a BA in Architecture from the University of Oregon. He is not a licensed architect, and HomePlanHQ is transparent about that distinction. The site's job is comparison and consumer guidance, not stamping permit drawings. When a build needs a stamp, that comes from the buyer's local engineer or architect.
