Who we are

HomePlanHQ is an independent publication covering house plans, architectural plans, floor plans. The site is operated by Cascade Data LLC, a small media company organized in the United States. We publish reviews, comparisons, and explainers intended to help readers make better decisions in this category.

Who writes our articles

Articles on HomePlanHQ are produced by The HomePlanHQ Editorial Team, a small group of staff writers and editors. Drafts are researched, written, and reviewed by an editor before publication. We do not accept guest posts, sponsored content, or AI-generated articles published without substantive human review and rewriting.

Some of our articles carry an individual byline (a writer's name in the article footer). The schema-level publishing entity for every article is The HomePlanHQ Editorial Team; the byline identifies the writer who carried the article through research and drafting.

How we research

For every article we:

• Cite primary sources where applicable: manufacturer documentation, regulatory filings, official company statements, court records, and peer-reviewed research.
• Verify quantitative claims (prices, ratings, complaint counts, fee structures) against publicly available data when possible.
• Disclose when we have not personally tested a product or service.
• Re-verify pricing, plan terms, and product specifications against the article's dateModified field.

How we make money

HomePlanHQ earns revenue through affiliate partnerships with select companies whose products we review. Affiliate relationships are disclosed in the footer of every article that contains an affiliate link, in line with the Federal Trade Commission's Endorsement Guides. Affiliate revenue does not influence our editorial conclusions: a negative review of a partner is published the same as a negative review of any other company. We never accept payment in exchange for a favorable review.

Our affiliate network partners include Amazon Associates, MaxBounty, CJ Affiliate, and (where applicable) Impact, Awin, and Rakuten Advertising. Network-level disclosures are documented in our privacy policy.

Conflicts of interest

Cascade Data LLC and its principals do not hold equity in any of the companies we review. We do not accept gifts, paid travel, or sponsored experiences from companies whose products we cover. The list of affiliate partners we currently work with is summarized in the affiliate-network sections of our privacy policy.

Corrections policy

If you identify an error in any article (a factual mistake, a price that has shifted, a misattributed quote, a regulatory citation that no longer applies), email hello@homeplanhq.com. We respond within five business days. Substantive corrections are noted at the bottom of the article along with the correction date. Trivial typo fixes are made silently as part of normal copy editing.

Ownership and funding

HomePlanHQ is wholly owned and operated by Cascade Data LLC, a United States limited liability company. The publication has no outside investors and accepts no investor or advertiser funding that grants editorial influence. Operating expenses and writer compensation are funded exclusively through affiliate revenue and (where applicable) direct ad placements that are disclosed in the same way as affiliate links.

AI and machine assistance

Some of our research and copy editing uses AI tools (large language models, transcription tools, fact-checking aids). Every article is read, edited, and approved by a human editor before publication. We do not publish AI-generated text without substantive human rewriting and verification. Articles that quote AI tools or rely on AI-generated analysis disclose that fact in line.
